a rare form of meningitis that has been decked in several states has health officials pretty concerned. the outbreak has sickened dozens of people and killed two people in maryland and virginia. according to the cdc, patients got the infection from a steroid injection given to back pain inform total, 26 cases have been reported nationwide and more cases are expected. the steroid drug made in massachusetts has since been recalled. in fairfax county, the search is for a teenager missing since monday morning. >> his parents are frantic as you can imagine and say it is not like the sun to just drop out of sight. melanie alnwick is live with more details for us this morning. >> reporter: good morning. it is a bit of a mystery. the 17-year-old teenager was last seen at 7:00 in the morning outside of w. t. woodson high school where he apparently dropped his brother off. police say they are going now through surveillance video from this dunkin don't us because there was a receipt found in

brian glen's car from this dunkin donuts store that was date stamped at #:00 in the morning on monday. brian glen has been missing for three days going on the fourth now. family and friends of him are search for the missing teen. they combed woods and paths in fayette park. that is where his car was found in the parking lot. the group got instruction but they had little to go o just an empty box from dunkin donuts that was left in the car along with pieces of jolly rancher canned yea and wrappers. everyone who joined in the search is worried and concerned. police brought out a helicter and blood hounds to look but nothing so far. police say it is unusual given the circumstance and there are just a couple of things. brian glen's father said he is not a big doughnut eater so doesn't understand why his son would have come to dunkin donuts or have doughnuts in the car. he said the radio station in

south a veteran d.c. police officer filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit claiming he was beaten by two prince george's county police officers. >> richard mara says they beat him with their fists and broke his leg outside a restaurant last weekend. paul wagner has more. >> reporter: richard mara said he stopped by the ebony inn last saturday afternoon to pick up some food before driving home to watch his son play football on tv. as he was standing outside, two county police officers rolled up in marked cruisers and ordered everyone on the ground. >> when one officer approached, i identified myself as an officer and tomorrow him i was

armed. i was on the phone and the officer attempted to snatch the phone from my hand. i put my phone away so he couldn't snatch it. he then pushed me. after he pushed me, i turned to him and told him i told you i'm an officer and i'm armed. they jumped on my back, punched me several times in the face. they tried to force me to the ground. >> reporter: he says the officers broke his left foot while using the baton and for reasons he said still unknown. >> i have hearsay, but just hearsay. i heard they came on the lot to look for someone else and they just happened to approach this group which i was standing around. the paperwork doesn't reflect that they were there looking for someone else. it said they were on routine patrol because the area is known for high crime. >> reporter: as you might imagine, prince george's county police have a different version

of events. according to the court document, they say that he ignored his orders to get up against the wall so they could interview him, instead talking on the phone. he then said i'm drinking ate private rot, i am not doing anything wrong. i'll sue. the court document says he was drinking whiskey and for mention that he identified himself as police officer. the officers noticed a bulge in his waistband and were concerned he was armed. when he ignored their orders, they used knee strikes and pain compliance techniques to get him down. he was charged with having an open container of alcohol, resisting arrest and failure to obey a lawful order. paul wagner, fox 5 news. still plenty ahead on fox 5 morning news. we have all of our top stories. >> including reaction from last night's presidential debate. we'll get a live report on that.

closing a satellite campus. the school's operating budget is $170 million. $64million of that comes from d.c. taxpayers and leaders think that is too high. mayor vincent gray is still looking over the cost-cutting plan. maryland governor martin o'malley speaking out against a casino company with strong ties to the region. >> coming up next, why he says the company is running false ads. ads.  i don't spend money

making headlines this morning, teachers in chicago have finally voted to approve a new contract. it's three-year agreement that includes pay increases and a new evaluation system. the contracts must now be approved bit chicago board of education. you will recall teachers walked off the job last month canceling class for 350,000 students for seven days. they finally agreed to suspend the strike pending the outcome of the official contract vote. a former prince george's county fire department official who pleaded guilty to extortion, conspiracy and tax evasion has been sentenced to a

year and a half in prison. prosecutors say carl grandow bribed public officials in exchange for a development near a metro station that he had financial interest in. maryland governor martin o'malley is peeking out against penn national gaming. he says the casino is running false ads against question seven on the november ballot. >> penn, the gaming company that is funding all of these ads trying to claim that these monies never go to school, total hogwash, complete lie that penn is perpetuating. total falsehood for them to say we are not investing more then indication. >> in a statement, the spokesman for the campaign behind the has responded saying

50 headed out towards 704. this is a live picture of northbound i-95 coming in out of woodbridge. heavy, slow and steady headed for the occoquan. here is the accident scene, westbound 118 or south if you will continuing over towards middlebrook road. accident activity occurred on the bridge. no one is able to get by. coming southbound to make the exit to 118, this is the ramp that is currently closed. no one is able to get by at this time. coming eastbound, the lanes are open. that's a check of your fox 5 on-timetraffic. -timetraffic. a public hearing will be held later on today in loudoun county to discuss the proposed service areas by metro. the proposed areas all surround the three planned metro stations in the area designed to help pay for the silver line extension to loudoun county. that hearing begins at 7:00 p.m. p.m. fox 5 is monitoring metro this morning. a judge is expected to hear arguments today on i alawsuit demanding metro post controversial signs in the transit system.
